ACCORD – An inter-collegiate faculty-led, multidisciplinary hub at Temple University dedicated to advancing equity-focused research on diversity, mentorship, and collaborative scholarship.

Originally founded in 2009 by then-Provost Lisa Staiano-Coico, ACCORD was envisioned as a space for critical inquiry into the many dimensions of diversity and its real-world implications. In the years that followed, Klein College of Media and Communication Professor Karen Turner(now retired) guided ACCORD into a new chapter, leading efforts to develop programming that encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration and broadened its campus-wide engagement. We honor the foundational leadership of the original Steering Committee members whose scholarship and commitment shaped its early trajectory.

Now under the leadership of Klein Assistant Dean for Community and Communications, David W. Brown, ACCORD is evolving into an internal-facing platform that fosters cross-college collaboration, supports faculty mentorship, and connects researchers committed to exploring these spaces.
